With the recent changes to the Qualifications Regulation of the Alberta Service Dogs Act the Government of Alberta has funded a pilot program with the aim of creating a list of Qualified Service Dog Training and Testing Organizations.
Hope Heels Service Dogs is honored to be one of the Service Dog Programs chosen for this pilot program and we look forward to being able to administer the testing required to qualify under the Service Dog Act for Service Dog Handlers who own a service dog that they have trained themselves or received from a Service Dog School/Program not accredited with Assistance Dogs International.
The pilot program will run from April until August at the end of which the Government of Alberta will create a Qualified List of Organizations able to administer the test. Details of the specifics of the test and standards required are not currently available but we will release the information when we are able.
